40 weeks, is this possible?

I'm 40 weeks pregnant, and at my last weeks Dr. appt. I was 1 cm, and 50% effaced. This is my second baby so I thought for sure I'd go by now! But, NOTHING! Anyways, I have a Dr. appt. tomorrow, would the doctor be able to do a membrane sweep, or do I have to be further then 1 cm?

i was the same thing and i got enduced at 38 weeks..but it took alot longer for me to go into labour 3 days...i hope my second one comes on time...well good luck

My doctor was going to do a membrane sweep at 37 weeks and I was fingertip dilated, so I am sure the doctor could do a membrane sweep for you at 40 weeks and dilated 1cm. Good luck.

Just tell him you want to be induced.  Its your second baby.   your already 1cm so your on your way and being induced shouldn't be bad.
