400 meter... long strides seem to be slowing me down?

recently, I have been trying to keep my stride till the end because my legs used to tighten up at the last 100 meter. However, it made my time like 3 seconds slower. Should I take shorter faster strides instead?

  1. keep your legs closer to your body and run on your toes until the last 100..then open up your stride and swing your arms like they are on fire


  2. no i would try to take longer strides again because usually even if you run a race the same way it isnt the same exact time.. there couldve been a timing s***w up for all you know...

    give it another shot and you may be surprised... you cant base a book by the first page either :)
