  1. thats really good times for a girl in the 400

i would say train with speed intervles and go out alot to a track and train

if u get pushed by other runners u will run even better

    nice time!

  2. you are AWESOME and very fast...keep listening to your coach..if he tells you to cut your leg off..DO IT  the coach knows what to do

  3. Man, our conference must really suck. In high school our girls our lucky to get a time that good. I'm a freshman boy and my best is a 61, but then again I've only ran it twice.

But to improve, I would suggest doing some longer runs like 800s and miles to help your endurance, along with the repeat sprints. Like one day work on sprints and the next work on endurance or something to that effect.

  4. That is a pretty good time.  The fastest I've ran the 400 was in 0:55.  To shave off some seconds work on your pace and do plenty of sprints.  Do the 100 a couple times sprinting all the way through.  Also running 2 miles a day is good.  Every week you should add a mile or a half a mile depending on your pace.  Soon like me you should be up to 10 miles a day.  5 miles in the morning, 2 at track practice, and 3 an hour after you get home.

  5. thats really good. im also 14 and run 1.03 on a REALLY good day.

just keep ur fitness up and eat heathily

  6. Don't listen to the kid that said "you should be up to 10 miles a day"...That's insane. That's way too much for even a 2 miler in track. Keep up the 100-200-400 repeats, and try working in some 800-400 sets and straight 800s for a workout. Make sure you take atleast one day off a week, and another day just do easy distance. When you're still this young, you have to make sure you don't get hurt. Good luck!

  7. My track coach makes all of the sprinters sprint a 400, go straight into a 200, jog back, repeat. We do it 10 times with a 2 minute water break after 5. I know that this is difficult and tiring but it took 6 seconds off of my 300 hurdles time and I'm sure it can do the same for you in the 400.

    Good luck!
