$4000 from the IRS was deposited into my checking account today for absolutely no reason.?

There is no reason the money should be there. I have already received my stimulus and my return. I would really like to pay some bills but I am pretty sure I would go to Jail. Any advice?

I would call the IRS soon to be sure nothing illegal happened.

contact them and ask. Don't use the money untill you get the all clear.

The IRS seems to LOVE getting other people in trouble for thier mistakes.

Do not spend a dime of it; wait and contact the IRS.  Even if they say OK, I would still wait a month or so for them to sort things out and perhaps catch their mistake.
