400m and 800m Help?

I need some serious help with the 400 dash and 800 run. I run the 400 in 1:11 and my 800 is 3 something. I need any tips/help I can get because its only halfway through the season and we have 6 meets left..and county+state. Help please!

  1. First of all are you a boy or a girl? If your a girl that 400 time isent that bad, but if your a boy you need some work.

    The 400 is basically a endurance sprint, which you need to carefully use your enegry to spread for the whole run.

    hears a workout plan that has been really successfull for me:

    Monday: Long distance 40 minute run

    Tueday: Endurance weight high reps low weights

    Wednesday:4 400 repeats

    Thurday:1 400 all out and 2 100's

    Friday: is usally competition

  2. Your 400 and 800 times drop off is quite significant, so your endurance might be something to work on. If you run 400 meters and 800 meters, you might want to alternate sprints and distance workouts.

  3. im a sprinter and suck at long distance and my 800m time was 2:40 in grade 8 last year

    my fastest 400 this season is 1.16 and ive run a 2.50 in the 800

    run a couple miles everynow and then and then do 4 200s afterwards at a fast pace
