I beleive I had a 401K plan back in 1998 which I never rolled over. It was Texas Commerce bank which is now Chase Bank. Do I still have a right to the money if I didn't roll it to a new account?

  1. Yes.  It's still yours.

  2. It should still be there.

It's a little odd that you have not been getting an annual statement, though, unless you opted for an e-statement to an address you no longer look at...

Call them and ask, they can find it using your Social Security number.

  3. As long as you did not close the account or move it, the money should still be there. However, there are "unclaimed property" laws. Since it has been 10 years since you have contacted the bank, your funds may be now with the state comptroller. The link will allow you to search for this account if it is not still with the bank.
