42 inch vizio plasma p42hd screen went out

Question

my plasma started flashing red,green, blue, white and black bars across screen and it won't shut off unless i unplug it. the sound works and all buttons on remote and tv do not respond.i have tried unplugging tv for hours but still just flashes the colored bars.
