42" Gateway Plasma TV

After 2 1/2 years a 2" horizontal black bar appeared on the right side of my 42" Gateway Plasma TV. Do you know what causes this and how to fix it myself? Just yesterday a second 2" horizontal bar appeared on the left side of my plasma. Can you help me. nyclubkid.com shows how to repair it yourself. But it seems that his 42" Gateway looks different from mines.
