42" sky plasma TV,sound, black screen no picture, pink and green lines on bottom of screen, please help?

I have had my 42" sky plasma for 4 years it has been fixed twice already for different things now when i switch my tv on there is a black screen with a band about 4"thick at the bottom of the screen in fine pink and green coloured lines there is nothing wrong with the sound, sometimes if you leave the tv on for an hour then switch of and switch back on the picture comes back but today it took an hour and a half what is causing this and can it be fixed cheaply as i do not have warranty anymore. thankyou.

Take it along to the shop you bought it from. Every Tv`s having problems because of the "Digital Switch-over".

My Sony got pink and blue lines on the bottom of the screen just like you, But when i took it back to Currys™, They gave me a new one with Installed HD ready Digital. Take yours back, see what happens.
