  1. What a fantastic opportunity for a change of lifestyle. Take it, You will not want to leave once you are here, I don't. Its a great place.

You will soon make friends through work. Go for walks in the park, visit the attractions, theatre etc - you will not be lonely.

However once you make your decision  you must come with a positive attitude and give it a few months.

    Good luck

  2. where in Aus

  3. I'm a 42 yr old woman and even tho I live in Au if we had the chance to move to the other side of the world for a time we would probably take it just for the life experience.

I actually met a British woman who moved over here for 5 years the other day she was late 50s maybe even 60's her husband came for work contract. she thought it was a great opportunity to live here they sold a farm they had had for 20 years & found homes for her beloved ponies. She is having a ball & loves being here. Especially loves the sporting side of Melbourne & the weather :) being milder than the British weather.

  4. I'm almost the same situation as you are.

For you, there is still a hope to ask for an immigration visa IF you would want to remain in AUS, case you decide this being at your new work-place. This is because there is a limit of age to 44, as long as I know, but they change all the time their legislation into visas & immigration . . .

It's up to you to decide whatever you dare to do in life; what exactly are you looking for . . . ? Maybe it's better for you to think what NEW OPPORTUNITIES will bring into your life the new job, this relocation, than "what do PEOPLE think" - do you agree with me?

I am on the way to drop off the possibility to buy an apt. for my children or a business of my own in EU and I am looking to know AUS and give myself the chance to make my own business out there someday - why not? A NEW START rests a new start whatever the place you choose. Another much better appartment will always be there for you, probably.

It's not the age which make a man, case you are afraid about it. All we need is in a heart and it's up to ourseleves to dare.

So, don't think about your age unless it is a legislation related issue for buying that apt.

  5. I think Australia is a truly great place to live and work, but I'm biased because that's where I'm from. You didn't say where you are now, but using the term 'down under' suggests you might be from the US.

Perhaps consider a visit to check Australia out if you have the time and the funds before you have to decide.  Keep in mind the Australian economy is booming, unlike in the US where there is talk of recession.  I guess in the worst case scenario if you moved and didn't like it you could always go back.

Do you have any info about what industry you would be working in or what city you would be moving to? That would help people to give you more information, and that would help you to make a better decision.

    Good luck :)
