I got 40.45 mpg on a round trip from Balt. to West Virginia and back. I did over 530 miles and still had 3.7 gallons in the tank, doing 67 mph with lots of hills. Call me crazy. Today, I drove home from a relatives at a snails pace of 61 mph, returning 43.8 mpg. I can get over 700 miles on one tank of regular gas. My normal commuting returns around 27 mpg though. I'm thinking of doing a documentary this year of a road trip pushing the mpg envelope. Do you like my idea? Honda's have given me excellent service and I want to put a spotlight on it.

  1. you probably forgot to write down one fillup....

  2. That's amazing! 40+ mpg is unreal for a regular gasoline engine. Could you post which engine (4 or 6 cylinder) and transmission (auto or manual) your car has?

BTW, a documentary wouldn't be a bad idea. If you do decide to do that, you should contact Honda, and see if they will help you out.

  3. thats amazing

one thing i dont get is why people always critisize hondas which is stupid because they are one or the leaders in techknowledge

  4. no, I don't believe it.

I once owned a 2001 Honda Civic 5 speed manual ,and I traveled from Harrisburg PA to Alexandria VA and the BEST mpg I ever got was 38 mpg, and I babied the car, running it at the speed limit and high gear all the time.

how can the 2.4 L engine in the Accord get better mileage than the1.6L Civic?

I think ur either a liar, or you didn't measure it right.
