454 engine head numbers?

I have an two heads for a 454 engine. I think they are for a boat motor. Where do I find the numbers on the heads and information on the heads.

remove the valve covers, look for a cast number on the top of the head when the valve covers are removed...most big block chevy motors have heads numbered for automotive use, depending upon the type of service the engine was designed form it may be low to medium performance to very high performance...google or yahoo 'big block chevrolet cylinder heads', you will get a partial listing of head casting numbers...good luck, and good hunting...ps, you can also look at the combustion chamber size the valve size and the intake ports shape to determine a lot about the heads you have.
