Randlk is rite,he said about he can't think of a round that will go through a vest,here is one the 5.7x28 thats what it was made for,to go through body armor.

No.  The .45acp is a slow moving giant of a slug and that's the one thing that's stopped most reliably.  Think in terms of trying to throw a basketball through a chain link fence.  

You know, come to think of it, I can't think of a single round "less" likely to penetrate a ballistic vest.

A .45 is a big slow bullet . It delivers a fair amount of energy on target..but doesn't penetrate extremely well. The type of bullets that defeat vests are usually small high velocity rounds.
