  1. 4 but whats the 25 did you miss somthing (and my question mark is broken soz) what is that thing between 4 and 25

  2. (47-27)-(12/4) 25

        (20) - (3) x 25

             (17)x 25

                  425

  3. I am confused by why 25 is off by itself, is it 425 or is is suppose to be separated?  If you are using pemdas and a calculator is allowed, start by dividing 12 by 425 and the rest should be easy.  If calculators aren't allowed, it works the same way, just will take you longer.

  4. Division first

    12 / 4 = 3 (this carries into the next part)

Now do all the subtracting or adding from left to right

    47 - 27 - (3) = 17

What are you doing with that 25? There is a space before it.

EDIT: I didn't know that Yahoo "eats" plus symbols. Therefore your answer should be as follows:

    Still division first

    12 / 4 = 3

Then do your addition or subtraction from left to right. Addition and subtraction have equal "orders," so you simply do it all from left to right. Same with multiplication and division.

    47 -27 -3 + 25 = 42

Incidentally, 42 happens to be Douglas Adams' answer to the Ultimate Question.
