49ers' cornerback Carlos Rogers bursts out on Redskins’ management – NFL News
San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers burst out on his former team Washington Redskins’ management saying that Redskins care more about getting hold of free agents rather than grooming the players they have in their side.
Rogers himself was selected by Redskins in the 2005 National Football League draft. He played for Redskins for six seasons and joined 49ers on a one-year contract in the year 2011.
He holds the opinion that the way Redskins operate cannot lead them to building a strong team. He regretted that his former team’s management like to invest too much money on adopting new talent, but do nothing to groom the players
who are already present in the camp.
“They brought in so many guys and gave them all the money and lifted them up and let guys go that they drafted and had been there," Rogers said during a radio show. "I really wasn’t finding them building a team that way. Of course,
you’re going to need free agents and some spots you need to fill. But you need to take care of your guys. Take care of home and not let them go. That’s how you build."
Rogers has started all the nine games for 49ers that have only lost a single game this season and are carrying the seven-game winning streak with a secured top spot in the National Football Conference West division. He has 26 tackles
and five interceptions this season whereas according to his overall career statistics, he has 325 tackles and 13 interceptions.
He also complained about his former franchise that there was so much drama and non-relevant stuff that bothered him and other players. He further said that the players were concerned about their place in the side if they made any
mistake, give up a play or a touchdown.
He pointed out that such distractions affect the performance of the players who are unable to focus on the game.
"Coaches don’t realise that distracts a lot of players. All the outside stuff resonates. It’s just football. Just play football and have fun and you’ll get a lot of things accomplished,” he said.
