49ers’ Dashon Goldson ejected for fighting Cardinals’ Early Doucet – NFL News
San Francisco 49ers won their week 11 encounter against Arizona Cardinals at the Candlestick Park and extended their winning streak to eight, but the celebrations at the camp could have been more joyful had safety Dashon Goldson
not engaged in a fight with Cardinals’ receiver Early Doucet in the fourth quarter of the game.
Goldson was lying on the ground after a sack when Doucet hit him on the helmet. Goldson got enraged and furious and stood up to respond. Both the players were involved in a little brawl and exchanged punches before the other players
interfered and separated them.
Goldson was ejected by the referee and flagged for personal foul.
Later after the game, 49ers’ coach Jim Harbaugh said that Goldson was feeling sorry for the incident. However, no official word came from the player.
"I saw Dashon get hit, get punched in the back of the head while he was sitting down and then he got up and retaliated," the coach said. "We talked about it in the locker room after the game and we all saw what happened to Dashon.
He's remorseful about it."
Dashon was selected by 49ers in the 2007 NFL Draft. He has played eight games this season and recorded 45 tackles and three interceptions.
Meanwhile, the other player involved in the scuffle, Early Doucet, said that he had lost his cool during the game as a result of which the fight took place. He was of the view that the league would fine both the players for their
actions.
"The ball was thrown and he took a cheap shot at me. I fell, then I got up. The refs didn't throw the flag. Then I just lost my cool, and then I went after him and then we had the little scuffle,” Doucet said.
49ers won the game against Cardinals rather easily 23-7. The only scoring move made by Cardinals came as a result of the foul that automatically awarded first down to them.  Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald collected a 23-yard pass
from quarterback Richard Bartel to score a touchdown. However, that could not help Cardinals win the game.
