49ers eye another victory as they host Cardinals on Week 11 Sunday – NFL Preview
As they gain momentum after winning the last two games to end the six-game losing streak, Arizona Cardinals are up against undoubtedly their toughest opponent this season San Francisco 49ers as the two sides meet at the Candlestick
Park in the week 11 game of the National Football League on Sunday.
Ranked second in the league ranking just after Green Bay Packer, 49ers are on a seven-game winning streak as they get ready to host Cardinals. 49ers have lost only one game this season and are leading the National Football Conference
West division with an average of 310.4 yards (179.6 passing yards and 130.9 rushing yards) per game.
49ers have responded perfectly to their critics who believed that the team would not do well this season. There are still some predictors who foresee them going down as the league progresses. However, 49ers are determined to prove
them wrong.
"We're a team to actually take serious. Everybody was probably looking at us like, 'They're not that good, they have certain things they need still to work on.’ Don't get me wrong, we're not perfect. We're still working on a lot
of things -- offense, defence, special teams -- because we've got to make sure every game we win with all three phases. To us, it doesn't matter if the league takes us serious," said defensive tackle Rickey Jean Francois.
The good news for 49ers is that running back Frank Gore who left the last game against Giants unfinished due to a knee injury is now fit enough to play the Sunday’s game.
On the flipside, Cardinals are charged up after beating St. Louis Rams 19-13 and Philadelphia Eagles 21-17 in the week nine and 10 respectively. They are ranked at the third spot in the NFC West division and carry an average of
318.9 (223.9 passing yards and 95.0 rushing yards) yards per game.
After the victory against Eagles, Cardinals’ wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was declared the National Football Conference Offensive player of the week award. Larry had two touchdowns, caught seven catches and managed 146 yards
during the game.
Although it is difficult to steal the first place in the division ranking from 49ers, Cardinals cannot be deemed underdog for the Sunday’s encounter.
