Question:

4L60E Trans. Missing Solenoid?

I just purchased a reman. 4L60E transmission and it seems to be in safe mode. Upon removal of the pan while troubleshooting, i found that the tcc solenoid was gone and there is a black cap over over the connection on the wiring harness...

The unit is throwing several codes and I cannot find any problems in the wiring.

Does anyone have any expertise in this transmission?

Thanks

  1. there is a couple different internal trans harnesses for this trans. the after market harnesses will work with either hence the black cap on the unused connector. the most likely cause of your concern is loss of power to the trans. check fuses and wiring to the trans

  2. Replace the solenoid  and then reconnect the battery and you may need to clear all codes ffrom the CPU PCM  unit before testing the tranny.
