4gb Mp4 Player problem

Question

I have a 4gb Mp4 player that I bought off e-bay that looks like a I-pod. After I install the movie file in AMV format. it will only play a few seconds of the film and then stops. Does anyone have any solutions to allow it to play films properly. I have tried formating it and starting a fresh but this doesn't seem to make any difference.
