4hr layover in Amsterdam, is this possible?

So I have a 4hr layover in Amsterdam and heading to Riga, Latvia, I'm not interested in smoking weed. But I was wondering if it would be possible to find a shop to buy two weed cookies in and then bring them to Riga for my friend and I to enjoy. Would that be possible? And would that be a bad idea? (in others bad idea to bring weed cookies or w/e into another country, even though tech it isnt weed anymore)

This is a very bad idea - it's illegal and you'd end up seeing parts of Riga that you really don't want to get to know. In addition, a four hour layover is cutting it close with respect to time for going into the city and back to the airport. While there are frequent trains, you'll have to get back in advance of the flight and go through security to get to your gate.

Firstly the chances are that you will get to see the inside of the customs search area if you try it!

It's still a drug no matter how it is wrapped up, packaged or baked, and airport officals don't appreciate smuggling of any form.

Secondly, 4 hours is nothing.  By the time you have disembarked, got through passport control, brought a train ticket.... well then it's time to walk off the platform and back to the terminal gate.  4 hours in summertime is nothing at all.  Some queues at passport control can run into hours believe me, and especially if you are a transit-passenger it's not appreciated by officials when you start the "I'm going to miss my plane" speech.  Plus walking time between gates can be up to 25-30 mins on top of passport control.

So putting it another way - stick to the coffee at Schiphol and then at least you can make it to your friend on time with your bags and your dignity intact

Schiphol has a zero tolerance policy for drugs. You would be risking major legal problems to save your friend a few dollars. It would be a bad idea. Marijuana is legal for onsite consumption in bars in Amsterdam.

If you buy marijuana in Riga, just never carry more than one gram on you at one time.
