I am looking for an ipod to buy on Amazon, and I keep running across ones that say 4th generation. is that a newer or older version?

  1. 4th generation is the older version iPod classic.


  2. 4th generation is an OLD one

    It was introduced with a black and white screen on July 19, 2004.

    A newer version of the 4th generation (color) was introduced with a color screen on October 26, 2004.

    The newest ones are the 6th generation (iPod Classic)

  3. It depens wat iPod it is! the newer the ipod gets the higher number the generation is.  

  4. the 4th gen iPod is the iPod Photo.. It came out in 2004
