4th ODI: Pakistan take 2-1 lead over Kiwis
Pakistan cricket team defeated hosts New Zealand by two wickets in the 4th One-day International (ODI) at Napier on Tuesday taking 2-1 lead in the six-match series.
Pakistan’s ODI vice-captain Misbah-ul-Haq was the top scorer. He scored 93 invaluable runs and later rewarded with the Man of the Match Award. Pakistan fast bowler Wahab Riaz also played his part in the morale-boosting victory by dismissing three players of the Kiwis.
New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. They set a target of 262 runs on the board after poor start. Pakistan, who are rapidly improving their winning ratio ahead of grand World Cup Tournament, achieved the target after losing eight wickets. The Black Caps top order gave a poor start to their team. James Franklin played an aggressive knock of 62 runs. All-rounder Nathan McCullum proved very expensive for the Pakistan bowlers and scored 53 runs off 58 balls. His elder brother Brendan McCullum also contributed 37 runs for his team.

In reply, Pakistani openers gave a good start of 43 runs to their team. Ahmed Shehzad struck 42 runs off the same number of balls while Younis Khan was run out by Nathan McCullum on 42 runs.
