5.1 Speakers connected to a Blu-ray Player?

i just got a set of home threater system that comes along with 5.1 speakers with a normal DVD player. Is there any way that i can connect the cables of the speakers without the DVD player to my Blu-ray player instead?

the blu-ray low-level output has to be amplified (i.e. through your receiver) I would recommend using a coaxial or fiber optic cable from the blu-ray to your stereo if it has a jack for that type of input, If not use the rcas. But, no you can't hook your speakers up to the blu-ray directly.
