  1. Hi, just a wee bit of background on what happened to me.  1st pregnancy, m/c at 5wks, very mild bleeding on and off, scan couldn't see anything at all, said it was maybe too early.  HCG Levels dropped from 71 to 15, blighted ovumn.  I was told at the time that if level fell it was definate m/c, if they doubled within 48hrs everything was ok but if they rose even just a little then possibility of etopic pregnancy.  2nd pregnancy i had early scans, one at 5wks and it was too early to see anything, only saw sac, went back at 6wks 5days and was able to see yolk sac and fetal pole and h/b.  5.5wks may be too early to see any of this, i would suggest going back in a weeks time or just continue getting your HCG Levels checked. I wish you the best of luck

  2. You should listen to the doctor. You're probably very early in the pregnancy, so not too much is showing yet.

  3. Did the doctor tell you when to have a follow-up ultrasound?  Did you have a transvaginal u/s or just through the abdomen?

5.5 weeks is too early to make the determination of whether or not you have a viable pregnancy.  If you have another in a week or two, you will be far enough along to tell whether or not you have a developing embryo or whether it's what is called a "blighted ovum," which will result in a miscarriage.  If you didn't have a transvaginal ultrasound, request it at the next one - they can get a better picture that way.

    Good luck to you.

  4. yeah its really early to see anything on the u/s....wait for a couple of weeks...then may be you can see the heartbeat.good luck!

But whats with the bleeding?!hope thats not anything to concern about!!

  5. hun its hard to say and you need to be guided by your doc,

I had a fetal pole and heartbeat 2 weeks ago at 5 weeks and 6 days but everyone is different.

A gestational sac should be there at 4 weeks followed by a yolk sac at 5 weeks ,

  6. Relax the first few weeks ultra sound is difficult to get info from and if dr. says ok your ok
