5-6 WEEKS PREGNANT, DOC SAID I AM GOING TO MISCARRY...?

Question

So I did 2 ultra sounds and they couldnt see nothing. My sac was getting smaller and wasnt growing like it should. They were supposed to see a developing fetus but didnt see anything. My hcg levels are getting lower. The doc told me I will be miscarrying soon. I havent miscarried yet I dont think. I am gettin a few cramps but no blood. I am scared to get a D&C. If anyone has had expierence with miscarriages or d&c's please help. Thanx.

I am so sorry for what you're going through, my thoughts and sympathies are with you.

i have had a D and C before when I miscarried at around the same stage as you. It's not that bad. I was uncomfortable afterwards, understandably, but I was knocked out so I didn't feel anything when it was done, of course. It was a weird feeling afterwards as it was 'over' if you know what i mean but it at least gave me a chance to grieve properly.

I'm so sorry hun for your loss i suffered a miscarriage in april at 9 weeks at week 8 the fetus had a heart beat and i then had some bleeding and went for a scan at 9 weeks and the heart beat had stopped,

I had a natural miscarriage i decided i wanted it that way,it started after a week with some pink spotting then red blood then red stringy stuff,then very heavy bleeding which had clots and large chunks of flesh.

It took an hour before i passed the fetus in the sac and i had to go to hospital at that point as i was hemorrhaging and i was in so much pain even morphine did not help/

Hun have a D and C i would never miscarry naturally again it was so painful and i was so scared with the pain i thought i was dying.

Hi, first off i do understand what you are goin through.  I have suffered two miscarriages since April'08.  1sm m/c natural m/c at 5wks.  I had VERY MILD cramps and VERY LIGHT bleeding, went for scan, couldn't see anything, HCG Levels were 71  and within 48hrs they had dropped to 15 indicating a m/c (blighted ovumn).  I actually got pregnant again straight away again and everything was going well up until my 12wks cand when i was told there was no longer a heartbeat and it was only measuring 8wks.  I had no m/c symptons at all (missed m/c) and was offered the d&c or i could just wait for it to happen naturally.  I opted for the d&c as i didn't want to pro-long the enevitable.  I am now glad i did do this as it was a fairly straight forward procedure and i was told that if i was to let it happen naturally at this stage i would have labour like pains as the uterus would be contracting.  Only you know which is the best option for yourself, however if you m/c naturaly then sometimes people end up having a d&c as there is some remaining tissue.

It sounds like a miscarriage i'm sorry to hear that it's something a woman doesn't want to hear especially from a stranger.To me it sounds like a chemical pregnancy where all is well then the HCG levels drop most likely because your progesterone levels are low and it's keeping the pregnancy from progressing.I have had 2 one last mth and another last week.My levels dropped to 22 a few days later i started bleeding with period like cramping.To be honest maybe it's best to have a D&C done because it cleans the insides out which is great for a new pregnancy if you are not sure about a D&C ask your doxtor i never had one because i was both 5 weeks pregnant and my body did it naturally.Good luck with everything and baby dust your way.

.first my belied.i know how you are feeling only too well.would this have been your first baby?you don`t need to be afraid of a D&C and the sooner you get it done the better in the long run.your body can repair it self quicker and you can start your morning process.i know this seems an empty consolation to you at the moment.but at least you know you can get pregnant so try again after a while.i`ll keep my fingers crossed.i don`t know if it helps but here`s my pregnancy history so don`t give up hope.

i`m at the moment pregnant in the six and half monate.it`s my 5 pregnancy but if it carries on full term will be my 3 child.in my first pregnancy i nearly lost the baby 3 times one time they even said i had lost him in the 19 week.for that i got several dr`s opinions which as you see was the right decision.i have a son.he has a few health problems but i`m glad i didn`t take the first opinion.my 2 pregnancy was excatly like you are describing the dr. said at first that at 6 it weeks could be too soon to see anything yet.by the 7 week there was still the empty sack in the 9 week they did the D&C it didn`t hurt physically(only a bit uncomfortable )but emotionally was a differant matter.my 3 pregnancy also had problems with them wanting to hold the baby from the 26 week.but myself and 1 of the dr.fought against the other dr`s to try and keep him in as long as possible.i spent alot of the pregnancy in hospital.but i have another son also with health problems but not so servere as my 1 son.my 4 pregnancy the baby stopped growing in the 14 weekthey waited till the 15 week before taking my blood test.they then took another test 2 days later to check the hcg. it was gettinhg less.the baby was dead in the 16.5 week i had a misscarriage,2 days before the scheduled D&C which they stilled made to be certain that all was clear.i`m now with5 pregnancy it will  be another boy,still having problems with the pregnancy and the dr.s thinks this baby might also have health problems but can always hope and pray that all is o.k.

never give up hope get help and support from family and friends.just remember god works in mysterious ways and there is always a reason for thjings even when we don`t first see them.when you need to talk you can always send an e.mail and i will try to answer as soon as possible.i will think and prey for you

im sorry for your loss. burt since you are not very far along you will probably pass all the material on your own and it will be like a bad period. I had a miscarriage at 5wks and this happened to me. The cramps were a little worst than my period and my bleedind was a little heavier. I took some ibprofuren and that helped. Your doctor may want to check you though after you stop bleeding. But if you start bleeding bad enough that you are filling up a maxy pad every hour, then you need to go to the ER. Again im sorry and you can try again after you have a normal period or two, Ive had two mc at 5wks and 16wks and now im 15wks pregnant and everything is good so far. Just keep taking prenatals even if your not pregnant. However i do doubt you will have a dnc, but if you do they put you out and it only takes 30mins. its outpatient so you will recover for about an hr or so afterwards and you will have to have someone drive you. And they will give you pain meds and antibiotics to prevent infections. you will lightly bleed for a week or so and three wks after they will do a check up.
