5.8 earthquake?

wow did you guys feel that!!! its been a long time since we had one. do you guys think it has to do with the weather?

  1. what was i supposed to feel? i have never experienced an earthquake and obviously do not live near where it happened. i would love to know where you are and what it was like. i can tell you that earthquakes have nothing to do with the weather.

    hope everyone's o.k.

    edit - I'm in the U.K. and reports are now on the news.

  6. Do you mean earthquake weather?  Seismologist and others say there is no such thing as earthquake weather.  Many find this hard to believe as most people believe, warn , hazy and slightly cool weather mixed brings on the quakes.  So yea or nay I'm double checking my earthquake kits.

  7. I live in South Gate, and I felt it when i was lying down on the bed.. my parrot flew to the window, my rooster was c**k a doodle dooing...... i was home alone, i screamed well more like moaned out loud, like 3 times in a row lol. :)

    shocking enough, he hadn't have one a long time. :)

    to tell you the truth i didn't like when it happened and now I like it. don't know why.

    as for wheater i doubt that, but then again, we know little about our earth and universe. :)

  8. that is a HUGE earthquake!  the entire condo was swerving back and forth and back and forth.  I still have an upset stomach.   It really freaked me out!!!!

  10. It has nothing to do with the weather.  Quakes are caused by sudden releases of stresses within fault zones, deep underground.
