  1. Too bad.  I wouldn't dream of staying at a hotel in Ireland.  The B&B's are everywhere and they are wonderful.  The cost is low and if you're staying several days, negotiable.  And you get terrific breakfasts.

Try very hard not to go into a pub, as they are addicting.  And by that I mean you will never want to leave.

Do you have room for two more?

  2. Thats plenty of money

  3. Hey There,

Yeah its definitely possible to do this. Are you staying in the one place for the 5 days? Seen as you posted in the Dublin category I'll assume you'll be here.

The bulk of your money will be going on food and drink (depending how fond of a pint you are!)  Is breakfast included in your hotel? For lunch get sandwiches/salads from any big supermarket (Dunnes/Tesco) and just find a park or bench somewhere to eat them or get a couple of things from McDonalds Euro saver menu (hamburger E1, Double Cheeseburger E2 etc..). For dinner try to eat early (before 7pm), most places do early bird menus and you can get a two course meal for as little as E9.99 in some places.

Drink is quite expensive but there are some places that are cheaper than others. Let me know where abouts (what city/town) you'll be based in for the 5 days and I'll try to give more advice, but overall I'd say it's defo managable and I think its always a little exciting to travel on a budget, I always do it coz I'm uaually always broke :-)

  4. How many of you are there?  One person yes, two or three or four then no.  Depends also on which part of the country you are planning to visit or stay in, some parts are more expensive.

  5. Don't want to put a damper on your trip but 50 euro a day is far too little . Dublin is expensive for everything. Expect to pay 5e for a pint and 10e for a cheap lunch. Sorry, but 100 euro a day would be considered a minimum requirement. An evening out at the pub would blow away your entire 50e budget.

Wandering around the rain soaked streets, broke, is not my idea of a holiday.

  6. Well if you're going to be walking around a lot you'll neded a good pair of sensible shoes.

Sher 50 euro should be grand - especially if you eat in McDonalds and keep away from places like The Coq Hardi (it's been so long since we've been in Dublin we're not sure if that place is still around or not!)

Also you could try popping into a place called Paddy Power's. There's one on every street almost, and you could turn your 50euro into 100euro.......

  7. If everything else is paid for, and you know where to find good, cheap food, then yes.

There is a place, some kind of food Emporium, on the north side of the river quite near the LUAS line which is supposed to be very good value, and they have food from all over the world there.
