you have to go to menu using the remote and go to something like options or setup, then it should give you a scroll menu like TV, DVD, AUX1 etc. click on TV then it should give you a list of tv brands, go find yours, then click it, it should give you codes, then switch the top dail thing(top off remote) to TV, then hold select and mute until the light on remote flashes. Then type in the 5 digit code and try to turn to television up using remote, there may be more than one code, so it may not work the first time, but the DirecTv guys shouldve did all this when they installed it...
