  1. Sarah Palin advocates drilling in ANWR, her argument, Alaska was brought into this country for its resources.

  2. Forgetting the effects of war in Iraq are you?

  3. You do realize that the reason gas will go up after the hurricane is because they had to shut down the off shore drilling we do off the coasts of America?

Geez. Let's elect 2 people who have their hands in big oil's wallets that will solve everything. It's worked the past 8 years right?

  4. Get your facts straight.  It was the Republicans that put a ban on drilling not the Democrats. And even if we do start drilling it will be a long time before we see any benefits from it.

  5. The Dems want high fuel prices. It adds to the "misery index". They feel that if you are hurt enough you will vote for them. Crazy isn't it.

  6. yes because drilling now would not make a difference until ten years and it would be a .05 cent difference according to analysts. Plus oil companies have lands they have not yet drilled in, and sometimes it is not about the price but the health of the environment

  7. I've done pulled out my walkin' shoes.  There could be a storm on the sun ball and Big Oil would shoot the price of gasoline up another dollar, now with this storm a little closer home, I expect gas to hit six dollars per gallon in the very near future.  Why not! They have another excuse!

  8. 1.  Drilling will take at least 10 years to lower the price of oil.

    2.  Oil companies have leases to drill and refuse to use them.  Those leases should be used before we start drilling else where.

    3.  Oil companies are making record profits.  That tells me that the price doesn't need to be so high.  That oil companies have it this high to make more money.

    4.  Oil will eventually run out.  We should get alternatives now while we still have oil instead of later when we run out.

  9. 1. Repubs put the ban on offshore drilling, not Dems.

2, offshore drilling will not yield anything usable for another decade.

  10. It is awful strange to me. I am 61 years old and until the Bush/Chaney administration NEVER has the price of oil been bothered by hurricanes or any other event at home or abroad.

I lived in Florida for 22 years and have seen many hurricanes come and go and not once was the price of oil or kerosene or any other heating oil's price changed as a result of it.

For the first time in my short 61 years, kerosene and diesel fuel which requires less refining of that of regular gasoline, has risen substantially above that of regular gasoline.

They have always been lower in price vs. the price of gasoline.

Wake up America, Bush/Chaney have got you guys bushwacked big time and you are too ignorant and blind to your political hatred of those who think different from you to realize it.

  11. You think we could drill now before the hurrican arrives and keep the price low????

Why do Republicans love to pretend there is a ban on drilling? There is just a moratorium on new leases. This was put in place in 1981 and passed by congress every year since. If it is what is holding us back why did the Republican congress renew it as recently as 2006?
