  1. at this point it sounds bad enough that you should get an exterminator to come to the house (everyone will have to leave the house INCLUDING the dogs).  what you could do with the dogs is take them to a groomer or vet for a flea dip while the exterminator comes.

my cats brought in fleas (we weren't getting bit though, your infestation sounds pretty bad).

we spent 3 months trying to get rid of them.  i used advantage on the cats (i think advantage works best) every THREE weeks during this flea infestation (and you have to keep applying it YEAR round to prevent this).  i vacuumed frequently, we used spray i the house but it didn't do much.  he advantage is what works best but it can take months to get rid of fleas this way.

i also took them to the vet for flea baths (but you have to put advantage on them again after the baths because it will wash off the advantage).

if you are using advantage the fleas are biting you because the dogs are protected.  this means you need to treat the house and yard (again, call a exterminator).

it is really bad for fleas right now.  it will take awhile but you ca get rid of them, make sure to keep using advantage every three weeks right now (once the fleas are gone you can do it every month).

people who have never had fleas get in their house do not understand how hard it is to get rid of them and it can take up to 6 months even when you do everything right and use every spray and flea medication out there.  it sounds like you really are trying to take steps to get rid of them.

    good luck.

  2. you need to have a professional come out and spray your house.  You will need to find somewhere else to stay for a day or two until it is taken care of.

You need to get this taken care of ASAP.  FLeas can carry diseases and it is not safe for your son AT ALL.

  3. If you even suspect an allergy to the flea bites you need to do something now - and even if he isn't allergic he still shouldn't be bitten by fleas. I assume they're itchy for him.

You need to have professionals come and fumigate your home. Go stay at a friend or relative's house.

  4. If you have applied frontline to your animals then they shouldn't have fleas anymore, which is why your son is being bitten so much.

The fleas are now living and breeding in your home.

Are you living with your mother?  If so, I'd be trying to find a way to move out any way I can.

Fleas can spread disease and yeah, it is itchy and making your son miserable.

He can get secondary infections from it as well.

It's your duty as your mother to take care of this and if your mom isn't willing to either take back her dog- or if you live with her then hire a professional to come in and get rid of the fleas for you, then you need to get out of there with your son, any way you can.  That's just unacceptable.  I also fear that you could be charged with neglect if you allow it to continue.  I'm not saying you're neglectful, but he's already getting secondary infections on his p***s.  He could end up with sepsis or something, need to go to the hospital, and then you could be in really hot water.

  5. I hope you can get it under control sooner then later.

If a doctor finds it to go on too long they could report abuse!

Find a way to put the animals in a kennel long enough to bomb the house and clean it.

Make sure your family has a place to go for that few days.

Make sure the kennel can assist with flea bathing the dog.

  6. I'm sorry, but take the dog to the pound. Whats more important? The dog, or the children? And if your mum was to kick you out because of it, then she has some serious issues!!!

Once that dog is gone, well gone, clean up and get a professional in.

We have a dog and have never had one flea bite!

  7. What has your baby's pediatrician said about this:  the fleas, the pus, the bites.. Maybe the local city animal control center has ideas about fleas. Sometimes I look up medical topics on http://www.webmd.com but a website is no substitute for primary care from the family doctor in my opinion.
