Question:

5 month old... is single grain oatmeal ok to give??

My son is almost 5 months... he's been doing well on the rice cereal. I have the Gerber single grain oatmeal also... think it would be ok to mix it w/ his formula/breastmilk and try it w/ him?

  1. of course. you might find that oatmeal increases bowel movements-just a heads up!


  2. Yes, it is fine.  As long as he has gotten used to rice, try the oatmeal.  Have fun!!  My baby loved the oatmeal, rarely ate the rice cereal after having tasted the oats!

  4. yes oatmeal is great but try whole grain instead ( it is better for you)  My son loves earths best whole grain oatmeal.

  5. Oh yes, my son has been on single grain oatmeal for four weeks now and he is also five months old.  He tolerates it well.  The doctor actually told me at his four month check up to start introducing baby food to him.  

  6. Yes absolutely as long as it's been enough days to introduce a new cereal (3-5daysa after trying rice for the first time), it's perfectly fine.
