5 of the most under-rated players in the MLS- Final Part
3). Kei Kamara - Forward (Kansas City)
Major League Soccer (MLS) right now lacks colorful characters in the game, but in a league that is still somewhat dull as compared to others, Kei Kamara is like a breath of fresh air. Kei Kamara is a Sierra Leone international and if he was in the Premier
League, he would have been a hit amongst the UK tabloids.
Since his arrival in the MLS, Kei Kamara has provided the league with more than just a fair share of notable moments. In 2010 he has been in the spotlight; something that’s not too common in the MLS. The player had a difference of opinion with the Sierra
Leone Football Federation, and then was responsible for an utterly ghastly miss in the MLS. He has also not gotten over his much publicised and still to be decided feud with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nick-Garcia-c27713.
The feud actually started in August when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kei-Kamara-c20504 called Garcia “the worst player in the MLS”. He infuriated Toronto FC and Garcia even further when he kept on using Garcia’s shirt number (4) because Kamara thought that his twitter account doesn’t deserve
to have Garcia’s name on it. Naturally, Garcia wasn’t one to back down, and he called Kei Kamara a “mental Midget” to take the feud even further.
However it seems that all this attention has made people forget how important Kamara can be for any team he plays with. Kansas City coach Peter Vermes’ 4-3-3 formation suits the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sierra-Leone-c3004 striker nicely, and after a while Kamara seems to finally have
settled down at the fourth MLS club in his short career.
Kamara finished this season with a career-high 11 goals, and he will surely be hoping to improve on that figure. So if there is any scrutiny about him this time, it will solely be for footballing reasons. Kamara is only 26 years old and if he keeps his feet
on the ground, he can definitely become one of the best players in the MLS.
4). http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Davis-c7951 - Midfielder (Houston Dynamo)
It is very sad to know that despite being the Houston Dynamo’s most influential player, Brad Davis is still taken for granted by the MLS. It is difficult to understand why this guy never manages to make it into the All-Star team or the Best XI list.
Playing on the left flank, Davis brings a lot of creativity to his sides’ attacking play, and his service from the left side is something that few players in the history of MLS can rival. Brad Davis is still waiting for a national team call-up and he should
get one because he really deserves it.
Davis is one of MLS’ most experienced players, and since joining the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Houston-Dynamo-c39542 in 2006, has become the fulcrum of the side.
Whether he is on the USA national teams’ radar or not, Brad Davis will just keep on playing the way he always has and perhaps another good season under his belt might see him get the nod for the national side.
5). A.J De La Garza- Defender (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818)
Garza is a full-back by trade, but this season he has spent most of his time as a central defender, along with Omar Gonzalez. His versatility in defence is a great bonus for Galaxy coach Bruce Arena, as he can play in any position at the back.
This season, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Omar-Gonzalez-c28565 was praised by critics for his solid defending and excellent leadership, but everyone forgot to mention that he had a partner with him. De La Garza kept defending solidly and formed a great partnership with Gonzalez, which made
the LA Galaxy defence a tough proposition for other sides to penetrate.
