  1. Each sister starts with 20%.

    The one buying others's shares has 20% + 20% + 20% = 60%.

The remaining two sisters who neither bought nor sold still each have 20%.

  2. One sister owns 60% and 2 others own 20% each, the same as they did before.

  3. Cool...a real live story problem.  Right now you each have one fifth (1/5) interest.  If 2 sell their shares to 1, she will then have 3/5ths interest and the two others will still have 1/5 each.

I do hope I get a gold star on this one.  Good luck!

  4. Each sister has 1/5 or .20 if one buys out 2 of them then she gets another .2+.2 or .4 for total holdings of .6 therefore she now owns .6 or 3/5 and the other 2 still have 1/5 each.
