I am 5 weeks pregnant and i have been cramping for the past 2 weeks and i have lower back pain constantly. there is no discharge of any kind. It feels like my body is getting ready for a period. It scares me a little because i do not know what i am suppose to be feeling--this is my first child.

Is this normal?

  1. I had cramps too, and it scared me because they always tell you that's a sign of miscarriage.

Cramping can be really normal in early pregnancy though. Here is a link with more info for you:

I went on to have healthy babies- this happened to me both times I was pregnant.

    Congrats & good luck!

  2. I was feeling the same way when I was around 5 weeks! I'm now 40 weeks.

if your super worried make a call to the doc and he/she will be able to help you. my mama always told me when I felt weird lay down and put my feet up (she's a l&d nurse) good luck!

  3. your probely just streching happends with your first I thought i was losing my baby when it happend I felt kinda dumb going to the er for it lol but its natural to worry like that expecially with your first

  4. Well you might just want to go check evrything is ok....same thing happen to me I was 5 weeks prego and was having bad cramps in my stomach and I didnt think it was normal at all so I went to the emergency room and they said evrything was ok but then a week later I woke up in the middle of the night and I was spotting very very light but I spotted I went to the emergency room they didi an ultrasound and evrything was ok thank god they heard the heartbeat and evrything but the doc said that its always to be safe then sorry just go double check

  5. Congrats on the baby :)

Dont worry this is normal. As this is your first you should expect this lol

    Your body is just expanding.

If you are seriously worried about this and it is constantly occuring, then please go to your midwife or GP.

  6. I seriously just felt like my period was going to come any minute for the first couple months of being pregnant... I never really noticed when it stopped so I can't tell you exactly, but the cramping did go away to be replaced by ligament pains and other such pregnancy joys.
