5 weeks pregnant and just a little blood.?

I found out 3 days ago that I am pregnant. I have been planning a wedding for the last 7 months and it is now less than a week away, we live together so it isn't an issue that we are pregnant before we marry or anything. We are very happy though and think that it couldn't have happened at a better time:) The problem is that when I woke up this morning everything was normal, and a couple hours later in the shower I noticed blood inside me, it was red but just a little bit, it wasn't a clot but it was not very thin either. I am hoping there is someone out there who might have experience with this, I don't just want people to tell me I probably miscarried. I know this is a possibility but I am already worried enough and don't need people who don't know to tell me that is what happened. If I did miscarry though is there a way to tell for sure? Can I take another pregnancy test that would come up negative if I did, and how long would I have to wait for the Hcg to leave my system.

  1. I spotted with three out of five of my pregnancies.  This sounds absolutely normal.  I have had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and I knew what was happening no question about it.

  2. I had this happen around the same time with my third. They never found out why. It happened up until 11 weeks on 3 seperate ocassions.  She was born the day after her due date at home and was 9 lbs 4 oz.  I am pregnant with my fourth and have had a bit of bleeding. I am now 30 weeks along and have had blood in my urine everytime I have seen my midwife.  The dr can give you an internal exam and see if your cervix is still closed. Mine was with my third. They gave me a 70% chance that it would be fine. I told them it had to be fine, I had plans for this kid.  She is the light of my life.  They will also send you for an ultrasound.  Good luck.

  3. I bled some during the beginning of my pregnancy. If you miscarry usually there is more blood than that followed by mild to severe cramps. Some people even have periods during the first couple of months. Did you have intercourse the night before? Sometimes when you are pregnant the cervix can be irritated during intercourse causing bleeding. Of course, the best advice is to consult your doctor if you have any concerns PERIOD. You don't want to wait around a risk it. And taking a pregnancy test now is probably going to be invalid. It Hcg doubles every other day and can take the same amount of time to get out of you system.

  4. if your not cramping or clotting your probably okay. I was spotting for like a week during week 6. It started in week 5 but it wasn't red it was brown and wasn't a whole lot but enough to make me cry because i thought i was losing the baby. I didn't lose the baby two week later i saw the heartbeat and the baby was alive and well. even if you took a pregnancy test it would still be positive for a while even if you did miscarry.

  5. GOING THOUGH SAME THING

  6. A lot of woman have spotting in their first trimester and still have a healthy baby. Though as you said there is always the other possibility. Really you need to give your dr. a call. Goodluck!

  7. The same thing happened to me at 5 weeks. I went to the ER. Turns out that it was implantation bleeding which was completely normal. They did a scan and saw the sac but couldnt see anything inside the sac or pick up a heart beat. I was told it was to early to see both. The next scan I got was at 12 weeks and there on the screen was a tiny baby.

It sounds like it could be implanation bleeding but to be on the safe side I would call my Dr if you have one or go to the ER. Good Luck!
