  1. It's possible you just ovulated late.  Even on Clomid, I was a couple days later than the "last" day my doctor told me to try (luckily, I kept trying anyway).  Try not to worry until you've had another follow-up visit.  If you really are just a bit off on your dates (not surprising if your body has had any sort of menstrual or reproductive issues before), then it might not be time to see the fetal pole yet.  I know it's rough, but the stress of worrying about it is probably not helping.  Try to think good thoughts for your baby (and I will too).

  2. If you are only 5 weeks than I wouldn't worry, heartbeats don't usually show up until the earliest 8 weeks.  I wouldn't worry at all, worrying is bad for you and the health of your baby!  So relax girl and let God do the worrying, thats what He's here for.

  3. I wouldn't worry yet (hard to do I know, especially since you've had 2 miscarriages).  If it makes you feel any better, we detected a yolk sac and a heart beat at our 6 week ultrasound, but no fetal pole.  Go figure...  the doc scared me with the viability issue as well, but I am not 32 weeks along with my baby girl!  Good luck and God Bless!

  4. When I went to my first ultrasound I was 5 weeks and 2 days and they found my sons heartbeat.  The doctor was really susprised. She said that the hearbeat is usually visible and are able to hear it around 6 weeks (when they develop a hearbeat).  Just be patient everything will be fine.  Think positive, try not to stress out because the baby feels what you feel.  Everything will be alright.

  5. i really wouldn't worry, i know its easy to say that but you are really early and heartbeats take a couple more weeks to show up. i got my first u/s at 8 weeks and they had to use a vaginal to see it and it was still pretty hard to see. i'm sure you are just fine. try not to stress because it isn't very good for the baby. relax, read, watch tv. if you aren't bleeding your ok! good luck!

  6. I know what you are going through.  I had severe pains on my left side by my ovary.  I went to the doctor to check it out because it hurt like h**l.  While at the doctor I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant and had no idea.  She told me to see a OB-GYN as soon as possible.

At the gynecologist they did an ultrasound.  They found NOTHING anywhere and I was freaking out!  They decided to draw blood and check my hcg levels.  Your number is supposed to double every two days so they drew blood on Tuesday and on Thursday.  They called me on Friday and said my numbers had more than doubled so my pregnancy was viable.

As long as you don't start bleeding or feeling worse then it should be okay.  Don't stress yourself out too much because that will only make it worse.  Drink lots of water put your feet up and relax.  Ask them to draw blood to check your hcg levels that might help you relax.  Also remember that a heartbeat is not audible to us until a few weeks later.

    Good luck!!!

  7. I have had several miscarriages and it took over a year with one unsuccessful pregnancy this time around.  I had an ultrasound at 5 weeks and like you I freaked out because there was no fetal pole or heartbeat.  when you follow up with your doctor they will most likely do an ultrasound or schedule one.  when I went back to my second ultrasound there was a baby and a heart beat.  the heart doesn't actually start to beat until 6 weeks and sometimes can't be seen on an ultrasound until close to 8 weeks.  here are my 2 pictures if you want to compare.

also ask your doctor about progesterone.  it helps keep the pregnancy until 12 weeks when the placenta takes over.
