I am around 5 weeks pregnant and yesterday morning i had some brown spotting that got less and less a the day went on...Again, today i woke up and had some more reddish spotting...Not enough to wear anything, only when i wipe (sorry TMI)...I rang the docs and they said it is nothing to worry about...It doesn't stop you though does it???

Just wondering if anyone else has had this and been fine.??

I have a scan booked for September 24th (i'll be 8 weeks).

  1. could be what they call an implantation bleed, its nothing to worry about, but if it continues or gets worse and you get pain go to casualty immediately dont bother with the gp

  2. Spotting is light bleeding from the v****a similar to, but lighter than, a period. It varies in colour from red to brown.

While it's not exactly normal, light bleeding or spotting during pregnancy - particularly during the first three months - is fairly common. It's estimated that about 15 to 25 per cent of women experience some sort of bleeding in the first trimester.

Often it turns out to be caused by something minor or "just one of those things". However, it can be a sign of a more serious condition that could put you and your pregnancy at risk. This is why it's always best to take any bleeding in pregnancy seriously and get the bleeding checked out.

    Good luck :)

  3. you can pop to a walk in centre they will be able to check you over stright away just to make sure your fine

  4. i dont mean to scare you, but i had this at the end of july. i miscarried. insist with the doc you want to go to the epu for a check up asap. i really hope you have a happier ending than i did . good luck hun

  5. first go &consult anothr doctor who will properl examine u.

  6. Alot of woman bleed during the time that there period should have been or implantation bleeding so you should be fine. If the bleeding persists i would go to doctors. Or if there is any pain or blooding turns into fresh blood instead of the brownish. Good Luck

  7. I had the same story on the 2nd baby, As per the advices of my friends (mothers too.) they say, its normal and nothing to worry.. but when i informed my doctor, she advice me to have rest, because its called "threaten abortion" she gave me medication for 3 days. and its gone.

Better to tell evrerything to your doctor... Doctor's Knows best.

  8. if your doc said its fine it will be fine trust. I'm coming 7 weeks., my baby is due in april. i have to go to my chosen maternity center on the 9th of september to book my bed i have no idea what that means lol. do you have any idea? and how did you manage to get a scan for 8 weeks? i haven't heard anything about my scan date yet, it takes too long. add me to your contacts, id like to keep in touch and find out how your doing through your pregnancy. I'm a first time mum to be and everyone else seems to be well ahead of me for giving birth, so finding someone with approx same weeks as me will help me out a bit more. good luck with it all. the first trimester seems to take forever. cant wait till i feel the first movement i wanna buy loads already ha ha. wb if you can cheers

  9. You will be fine, it should stop pretty soon, its just your body adjusting to not having a period anymore.  It may be because your cervix is irritated, but still nothing to worry about as long as it doesn't change to a bright red color with more flow.  Don't worry you should be just fine.

  10. My answer is too keep your mind open of the stuff that could happen.  Congratulations and Good luck to you!

I'm not writing this to scare you, but I found out on tuesday that I was 5 weeks pregnant.  I had slight spotting on thursday, and sad to say, I started bleeding heavy on friday, with cramps, and doctor said that i'm busy having a miscarriage.  I have had since tissue discharge, so, it is confirmed now, it is a miscarriage.

My advise is, take it slow, don't stress too much.  Your bleeding can be implantation bleeding, and could be perfectly normal.  Every persons is different.

  11. hi there

alot of women spot in early pregnancy and go on to have healhtly babies. BUT i dont want to scare you but some spot and its a miscarriage........really only time will tell. i think youll be okay though just as long as the spotting dont turn bright red and the flow increases....good luck hun!

  12. DON'T WORRY... I had spotting too... in fact I thought I was getting my period.  Then it went away...then it came back... went away and came back again.   See your doctor... let them know.  You might want to abstain from s*x until the spotting stops.   If you get severe cramps, heavy red blood or clots... go to the ER.  But brown spotting is most likely nothing to worry about.   I'm 5 months pregnant and everything is great.

  13. If it's brown. not much and pain free then you should be ok.  However, if you have any pain and/or its turns bright red then call midwife immediately.

  14. you need to make more of a fuss while spotting is not always serious hun it can be and most of my miscarriages started that way,

I don't see why you should wait for a scan until the 24th you should be having one next week
