  1. thats really strange because when i had my last miscarriage it took over a month for my  hcg levels to get back down to non pregnant status and I was only 5 weeks along ...maybe you still had hcg levels left over from your previous miscarriage? I never knew someone getting pregnant again that quickly after a miscarriage so i cant give you a true answer..sorry

  2. when you look on the net for hcg levels they are just a guideline if your doctor thought they was to high or something wrong he would have told you, i would try not to worry about anything, easier said than done after having a mc but try to be stress free for you and the babies sake, congratulations!!!!!

  3. google high hcg levels in early pregnancy.... its a possibilty you could be having more than one baby =)

  4. That can't be right, if thats your level you must be way past 5 weeks. this is what i found in the American Pregnancy site.

Week 5 - Gestational Age (Fetal age 3 weeks)

    Development

The gestational sac is often the first thing that most transvaginal ultrasounds can detect at about 5 weeks. This is seen before a recognizable embryo can be seen. Within this week, at about week 5 ½ to the beginning of the 6th week, a yolk sac can be seen inside the gestational sac. The yolk sac will be the earliest source of nutrients for the developing fetus.

    Hormones

Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels can have quite a bit of variance at this point. Anything from 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml is considered normal at 5 weeks. Once the levels have reached at least 2000, some type of development is expected to be seen in the uterus using high resolution vaginal ultrasound. If using a transabdominal ultrasound, some type of development should be seen when the hCG level has reached 3600 mIU/ml. Although development may be seen earlier, these levels provide a guide of when something is expected to be seen.

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

    3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml

    4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml

    5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

    6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml

    7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7,650 - 229,000 mIU/ml

    9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml *******this is your level!!!!

    13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml

    17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml

    25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

    Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml

    Postmenopausal: <9.5 mIU/ml

  5. No they are ok. you may be a week ahead of what you think you are and that is common.

    3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml

    4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml

    5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml

    6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml

    7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml

    9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml

    13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml

    17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml

    25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

EDIT: Thats fine then. doc thinks you are 5-6 weeks so untill you know forsure, i would say you are 6 weeks because of your levels.

MRS FG, look at the chart again, you will see that her levels can fall at 6 weeks also...
