50 Cents hopeful of making Pacquiao vs. Mayweather fight happen – Boxing News
Curtis Jackson, widely known as 50 Cents, is a professional rapper who is now in WBC welterweight titlist Floyd Mayweather’s league, TMT Promotions, making huge promises to fans. Among all, Curtis’ major commitment to fans is to make the long awaited fight
between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather happen.
In his recent interview, 50 Cents claimed that he will make sure the fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather happens soon. Realising the fact that fans are extremely eager to see both the pound-for-pound kings clash, 50 Cents wants to try his level
best to bring it to life.
It should be noted here that both the fighters have been in direct contact with each other in order to negotiate a deal but nothing has happened yet. Floyd Mayweather has time and again cited that he cannot rely on Top Rank’s Bob Arum, who promotes Manny
Pacquiao, for the fight. Therefore, earlier this year, the WBC welterweight titlist tried his luck by talking to Pacquiao directly.
Nevertheless, the deal Mayweather offered Pacquiao did not sit well with the Filipino. Mayweather wanted to grab the entire pay per view proceedings while leaving Pacquiao with a pre-determined amount, $40 million. Pacquiao, who believes he is as good and
popular as Mayweather, revealed he felt embarrassed by Mayweather’s offer.
Their negotiations started earlier this year and fans were expecting both of them to clash on May 5 but it did not happen. Instead, Mayweather went onto face Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto, while Pacquiao went on for a title defence fight against unbeaten American
fighter Timothy Bradley.
As of now, Pacquiao is scheduled to fight on November 10. He lost his WBO welterweight title to Bradley on June 9 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas via controversial split decision loss. Now, the Filipino wants to avenge his defeat and get his title back.
On the other hand, Mayweather is planning to schedule a fight by the end of this year. However, he has not revealed as to whom he is planning to fight. Since Mayweather has a plethora of options to consider, he wants to take his time to decide which one
would suit him the most.
