This is a question for my friend. She is a college student live in Queens, New York City, and She parked her car at street, and come visit some friends here in Boston. The cab driver made a mistake, so she missed the bus back to NYC, and she was late for 3 hours reached home. and at that time, she missed the street cleaning and her car was towed. she is not sure if her car was towed because she didn't quiet remember where she parked, she spend next 3 days looking for her car and didn't find. now she know her car is in the towing place, and it only worth $500. paying for the towing that's $300 a day, so 4 days now that's $1200, is it worth it for her to get her car back. she doens't have that money any way now.but they have her plate and information in the car, if she left their, will they sent her a bill of huge amount of money some day? what can she do?

  1. the bill will continue to accrue and they will send a collection agency after her.

  2. yeds

  3. leave the car wher its at. there really isnt any point in spending all kinds of money trying to get a car out for over $1000, when she can just as easily and maybe even for cheaper go and get another car thats worth $500.

  4. What? She has no telephone? Ignoring the situation will only raise her fines.

That's two questions. First, she must pay the fine OR go to court and have the judge reduce it. Why would he reduce it? Only if he thought she could not pay the fine.

Ah, but since she is a college student, the judge knows her parents have deeper pockets. This girl better call her father. She's got to explain why she has a secret boyfriend and if her father is from a certain part of the world, he might believe in honor punishment.

The second question is about what to do if you lose your $500 car. Somehow, I think once her father pays to spring the car from the city, this girl's going to lose that car anyway.

  5. she needs to make some sort of payment arrangments or just sign the title over to them if she doesn't want it. NY is bad you should try Philly they are worse...LOL

  6. I wouldn't get it back if it was me.

  7. She should call them and tell them she doesn't have the money and what can she do? Usually they will allow a person to drop off the title and they sell it for what they can get. Will she still get a bill ? --- depends on the place she should ask them- different places different rules.

  8. There seems to be something fishy with this scenario.  I would understand an initial $300 towing charge, but $300 daily seems to be a bit much, even for NYC.  I'm not sure what she should do, but she certainly needs get the vehicle out of there because it would eventually go to collections I would think.  A $300/day charge just seems like highway robbery in my opinion.

  9. if she can tell the towing company to keep it and that she doesnt want the car cus she doesnt want to pay the price than go for that... but if she has to pay the price either way get a loan from the bank to pay for the car's towing fees and get the car back... thats about all you could do

  10. Is it worth it? Yes, if the fine keeps going up by $300/day whether she claims the car or not, she has to get the fine to stop growing.

And this is why I would never live in NYC or Boston.

  11. if you want to get it back become a male prostitute and work for the guy in charge of the cars. then u can steal it back while sucking his ding dong

  12. i hate t o break it to you, but generally they will come after you because the city is greedy. i'm sorry, i'm sure you could probably go to court over it.. but that's an even longer time period.

  13. If her car is only worth $500. Then why go pay $1200. to get the car out? I would go to the inpound lot and sign the title over to them. This way she doesnt get hit with the fees. Then she can go buy a better car for the $1200. she would have spent to get her car out of the impound.

  14. she could just drop off the title and turn over the car to them

  15. GO TO PAID DAY LONG THEY GIVE YOU THE MONEY BUT YOU GOT TO PAID THEY BACK

  16. this so sounds like some sort of a scam

    this is rediculous

  17. No way! the towin does not charge $300 per day. its a scam your gf is using on you coz you dont leave here. Dude dont be silly, is she your real gf or you picked her up on your way back to boston...she probably thought you have some money but you wont give her, so she's trying this on you

  18. She should talk to someone who can help her instead of you.

  19. i let them keep the car and just buy a new one!!!!

  20. the smartest thing to do is to go to the towing place. Ask for them to throw her car in the junk yard, where it will be crushed and smashed. She getts $700 or more cause the car parts can be reused and the waste parts can make pop cans, etc. She can use the money she go from her broken car, if she thinks she has enought money, she can go buy a new car, or add some more money and get a first hand car.
