500w amp and 1000w speakers?

Question

i have a 500w amp.....will it work with a 1000w speaker.

i had a FLI speaker...but it stopped working...apperently amp stopped working.

I got a new amp and i connected to the fli speaker....it worked okay....but am afraid it might blow up.

is it okay

It is safer to get higher rated speakers.  So you are doing good.

Just make sure you don't turn up the gain to high on the amp if you think it might blow the speaker. If you mean that the amp might blow, make sure you have the correct polarity (+, -)and proper ohm load on the amp from the sub. IM me for any other ?'s you might have.
