If i take a 500w rms subwoofer and hook it up to any amplifier that has a higher rms rating (not going over the peak rating) will this blow the subwoofer or cause troubles?

  1. ofcourse not. overpowering/underpowering the sub is bad. 600w with 500w is just fine

  2. edit the question i need to know the amplifier and subs impedance cause u could burn them

  3. No it will not plow the sub but you don't wanna do too far over and make sure you are not getting any distortion or clipping because that would definitely damage your speakers..
