  1. The problem may not be fuel related.

    Possibly electrical.

Chinese junk have low quality standards.

Keep a known working spark plug with you.

When the engine stops running, pull off the spark plug cap.

Insert the good plug into the cap - lay the threads of the plug against the engine and try to start the engine.

If the plug doesn't spark, the problem is electrical and further testing is required - coil, CDI, pulse coil.

Remove any plastic covers and practice removing the spark plug cap before going for a ride.

Make sure you can access the spark plug cap in an instant.

  2. if it ran for 5 miles, it should run for ever. you got dirt or rust in your gas, it needs a carb clean/jet clean. thats all.

  3. I had the same problem 3 weeks ago, I bought a china scooter 50cc

from an auction it's a 2007 with 1,300.00 miles I first took the spark plug out and checked it then I ran the coil wire around to the exhaust and plugged in the spark plug then with one hand I held the plug threading to the exhaust by the wire and the other hand I held the brake and the start button to turn over the bike, I had no spark the stater was bad in my case which is the most typical part problem for china, If you have spark then you can eliminate electrical but before replacing your stater check all the wires to see that they are connected properly especially the coil wires!

Now with spark and a still having problem you should then check out the carb open the seat under the seat their is a plastic cover on my bike the carb is assessable through that you just unscrew 2 screws to detach the carb put your finger in the moter side  plastic intake to see if their is gas their that means flooding if you find it wet not damp, next step with a socket set you take off the air box and remove the carb to the out side of the bike loosen the drain s***w on bottom of carb gas will drain out catch it with a container at the end of the hose  then unscrew the three strews on the bottom of the bowl to open

( theres no reason to open the other areas of the carb )

take out the main jet it's in the middle with a flat head s***w driver and clean and blow out the hole on the jet and the other openings

(one more thing check the # on the jet a 85 may be to much with a air box restriction 84 or smaller is good stock)

BUT I WOULD TRY GOING DOWN THE ROAD WITH NO AIR BOX OR AIR INTAKE RUBBER TUBE JUST THE CARB  AFTER REINSTALL YOU MAY GET A LOT MORE POWER MINE DID.

THEN PULL OUT THE CARB AGEN TO SEE STEP ONE AND LOOK FOR WET GAS THAT SHOULD TELL YOU IF YOU NEED A CARB or a smaller jet AFTER ONE MORE STEP CHECK THE HOSES , THE FUEL PUMP WORKS BY VACUME IF A HOSE IS OFF THATS YOUR PROBLEM NO GAS OR YOU HAD WATER IN THE CARB WATER IS HEAVER THEN GAS SO IT CLOGS SMALL JETS ON SCOOTERS.
