My cousin and I are planning my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary for next year. We were trying to think of different themes to go with. We are Mexican so we were thinking of doing a mexican tradition of party...

Any suggestions would be helpful!!

~Thanks!!

  1. Awh, that is very sweet of you and your cousin.

I love the Mexican tradition idea.  This is what I would do:

I would rent out the place your grandparents were married, if possible.  If not, perhaps you can arrange something in a banquet hall or garden.  From there, decorate for a wedding in the Mexican style.  If you can, find out the flowers your grandparents had for their wedding, and order some to decorate with.  I would also find their wedding scrapbook, and take that out to display.  Maybe you have some pictures of them that you would like to enlarge and frame to place on display.

From there; I would hold a nice dinner, and have a toast to them and their longlasting marriage.  And maybe you can get a wedding cake that they have to cut and sample?!

Hope you like the ideas.  Good luck and I hope this helps a little!

  2. Here's a song you could use.

  3. I think that theme sounds great!

For my In-law's 50th, we broke out their wedding pictures, had them enlarged and framed and sat them around.  We also bought her a bouquet of the flowers she used, and included gardenias - the flowers she would have used had she had the money!
