Just curious if 510 Verret St in Algiers got destroyed by hurricane Katrina. I found an old post card my dad had written and that was the address where he was during WW2. I would love to add any info into my genealogy.....Thanks

  1. It was not in the area that was flooded but may have suffered wind damage. You can look on google maps to see a satellite view as well as street view of the area current day if you wan.

(the link may not hold so you will probably have to put the address in again but it will show a 360 street view and then switch to satelite if you like).

  2. that is in a nice quaint neighborhood that was mostly unaffected by katrina and the people will probally be very friendly

  3. Algiers was not flooded during Katrina and suffered relatively minor wind damage.  I am not familiar with the exact address you are asking about but the building was almost certainly OK.
