I have a big scren that recently has a blue cloud right in the middle of the screen and it's really annoying. I am wanting to know how much I am looking at into fixing this as this is a great TV and not wanting to get rid of it. What is the cause of this and is it an easy fix? This is not a DLP. This is the old school projection box TV's, about 5 years old. Thank you!!

  1. Is it possible that something magnetic has come near the TV recently?

You might check and see if there is a way to deguass this set. Some sets will simply have a button the back to press which does this.

  2. Being this is an old school projection set it should have three small tubes( one red,one blue, and one green) that are used to project the image off of a mirror. It sounds like you have a problem associated with the blue tube. This could be a convergence problem, a problem associated with the yoke, or the blue tube itself. seeing that this set is several years old the fluid in the tube could be contaminated or the tube itself could be heat warped causing a focus problem. If you are technically inclined you could disconnect the blue tube and turn on the set to see if the problem goes away and troubleshoot from there.
