I will be setting up a 55 gallon tank and will be doing a fishless cycle.

Tank set up will have:

Two: AquaClear 70 filters

One: Visi-Therm Stealth Heater 200W

One: Whisper Air Pump 100 gal

These are the fish I want:

8. Giant Danios

8. Silver Hatchet Fish

8. Emerald Green Cory Catfish

2. Rubberlip Plecos

Would my tank be overstocked with the fish listed above?

  1. No, you aren't overcrowded if you take that advice of having one plecostomus, because you'll have exactly 55 inches of fish.

  2. You should be ok with that, but I would only get one pleco because they can get rather large.  I also wouldn't add the pleco until the tank is really established.

  3. rubberlips do not get as huge as commons...

    AND your running extra filtration!

    awesome!

your stocking list shoudl be awesome...add slowly though, mabe 2-4 at a time as to not shock the system.  id add the giant danios last as if they are left to establish territory first can be kind of nippy!
