I'm doing a discussion question for a Government class and we're studying Atkins Vs. Virginia, and I found out that Atkin's IQ was 59, so i'm wondering what age his mental capacity was equal to. Thank you

By definition about 14 years old. IQ is the mental age divided by chronological age. Our capacity to learn levels off around 24. So figuring 59% of 24 is about 14 (I'll leave the exact age to you.) In actuallity at that IQ he can probably tie his shoes and bathe himself. Possibly learn simple tasks like putting together 2 or three parts.
