  1. You should do about a 20 minute jog, but not too hard because you don't want to strain your muscles before the "big" race! =)  You will do great and remember nervous energy is GOOD ENERGY!

  2. you should either jog a little or just do strectches don't overdo it and eat pasta or sometype of carbs for dinner.

get at least 8 hours of sleep

    good luck :]

  3. it is all up to th individual and their superstitions. I don't run on the day before so I don't mess anything up by pulling a muscle or anything like that. I know that others do.I have been running for 8 years now and would recommend the following:

I would strengthen the core: calves, quads, hams, back and abdominal (the "six pack" muscles along with the obleks), chest and arms. But when strengthening these muscles, I would focus more on the muscle endurance not the muscle bulk. For more advice for this, I would consult with a personal trainer. For the running part, I would stay flexible as it helps/contributes to your balance (so do the muscles in your core) but also helps prevent some injuries like pulled muscles and shin splints. Also, I would try to make up a schedule where you can run for X amount of days and try to have a long run. I would start off slowly, running about 2-3 miles per run for the first week and increase my mileage per week. Make sure you have the following: a good diet, hydration, sleep, a good sense on how to take care of your body, and sleep. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Good Luck!!!

  4. I'd say jog maybe a mile at an easy pace. Then eat a balanced meal and get plenty of rest. Eat breakfast and lunch, depending what time your race is. Before the race, I'd suggest maybe an easy 400-800 meter jog to warm up and get loose.

  6. I wouldn't jog the day before, because you wouldn't want to pull anything, so just take the day to relax, but be sure to stretch out so you will be ready to run.  And good luck!

  7. You can jog if you want. Try to think of the 5k as a fun thing to do rather than thinking about what other people are there for. You deserve a pat on the back for doing the run! Keep training and compete with yourself to improve your time each race.

  8. if you got good practice before that day was coming. then you should be pretty alright and calm and relax

  9. You might want to go out for a light, very slow jog the day before. This will keep you loose, but also leave you with energy for the race. Oh, and being nervous is always going to be with you(sorry), I've been running track/XC races for 5 years now and still get a bit nervous before a big race.
