Question:

5k race in the morning............please answer ASAP?

My race is at 9 am and right now its almost 10 PM. What and when should i eat in the morning? I dont want to get sick while running. Please and thank you!

  1. i wouldn't change your diet too much the day before and/or of the race, in my opinion changing can shock the body, which won't help during the race.  Eat as you normally would, but avoid too much milk (will make you phlegmy), and i wouldn't eat breakfast within, say, an hour or hour and a half of the race.  Small, little things are okay, but once you are about 20 minutes out, i'd stay away from eating until after the race.

  2. Ok, the main thing is a big healthy supper with a good bit or carbs, so a salad the night before a race really isnt a good idea, then take it light for breakfast. I usually go with croissants or biscuit just eating one or too.. then orange juice and a bottle of water..It wont fill you up, but thats the point..you dont wanna throw up..

    if the race wasnt in the morning id say oatmeal.. Sometimes I dont even eat before morning races, and I run fine...
